A Jeweled Box

I was recently walking through the craft store and I spied these wood boxes. Geodes, quartz, stone are totally in right now. Anthropologie has beautiful geode hardware I'm swooning over. I also recently saw two of my favorite bloggers, The Handmade Home and I Heart Organizing, creating with these elements. I had received the Elmer's ProBond product as part of this sponsored post. It is meant for attaching porous and non-porous surfaces and I knew it would work perfectly for my box. I took off the hardware and painted the entire box gold. This was the same DecoArt gold paint I ...

Porch Makeover Details

Yesterday I shared how we made and hung our very cool number sign as part of our porch makeover. Today, I want to share the details of this project. When we first looked at our house 7 years ago all I saw was wrought iron vines and grapes. I almost didn't even set foot inside because I couldn't get past this. It made the house feel dated and like something meant for a grandma. Ironically, the entire house was dated, but I loved the neighborhood and immediately had a vision. Over the course of 7 years we have taken down walls, gutted the kitchen and bathroom, tore up carpet, ...

Porch Makeover Reveal & How DIY Street Number Sign

This post brought to you by Elmer’s ProBond Advanced. All opinions are 100% mine. The very first thing I said when we put an offer in on our house was, that porch needs a makeover. Nearly seven years later--it finally got one! The wrought iron completely dated the house and that carpet was atrocious. I don't know how we let it go for so long. I mean, we made over every single room, the backyard, etc., so it wasn't like we were just twiddling our thumbs. I cannot help but kick myself though, because MAN what a difference! There a lot of projects from this little makeover I am anxious ...

How To Reuse Party Decor

I love decorating for shin-digs. The problem is, I often find myself wondering what to do with it all when the party is over. We just recently celebrated Hudson's first birthday. See what I did there? The robots that were garland are now specimen art. The tissue paper tassel garland is now hanging above the changing table. Which is the best idea ever because Hudson is obsessed with it. He is at that awful diaper changing stage where you need to pin him down and he is one squirmy worm--so we are grateful that it keeps him still. Until the novelty wears off, of course. I ...

Buying Our First Home

This post brought to you by BMO Harris Bank N.A. Member FDIC. All opinions are 100% mine. My husband and I bought our first and only home in the fall of 2007. We didn't renew our apartment least and moved into my parent's house that summer while we began the process of house hunting. We were planning on five years in the house, but wanted something that could last us longer, if that is where life took us. I am fortunate enough to have a dad as a realtor, so not only do I have my dad guiding me, but I have an awesome realtor looking out for me. There were some things about our home we ...

A DIY Shirt With a Special Touch

I am so excited about this project. As soon as I finished I texted a picture to my mom and my friend and anyone who would listen. Now let me start by saying how blessed I was to invited out to Utah to meet the fine people at Cricut and get a sneak peek at the new Cricut |explore. Crazy inspirational. I was dying to get my hands on a machine. In a way it is almost overwhelming, because there is so much this machine can do. I didn't even know where to start. I want to make everything!! As soon as I got my log-ins for Design Space (still in Beta mode), I had to make something. I was a ...

New Faucet, New Printable

Wash you hands printable-- perfect art for the bathroom.

This post brought to you by Moen, Incorporated. All opinions are 100% mine. It isn't often that I get to help my parents out. Even though I am all grown up, they are still helping me out: babysitting, or picking up a necessity there or a necessity here for the kids, taking me out to lunch. My parents are in the midst of remodeling two bathrooms and I thought the Moen Boardwalk 1-Handle bathroom faucet in Spot Resist would be perfect for them. I think it is safe to say they needed a new one. My parent's built their house 20 years ago and this is the original faucet. So much ...
