These chalkboard toy bin labels will give you the organization you have been searching for.
It is possible to have a beautiful, organized space while living with children and all their toys. Once kids are in the picture, a toy bin becomes a household essential.
Make your toy bin work for you
I live with a lot of kid stuff. I’ve talked about that a few times here on the blog: organizing board games, and even gave 5 Tips for Living with Kids and Their Stuff. This is one of those things that seems to never be conquered. We are constantly getting rid of stuff around here. One of my latest pet peeves was the bins hanging half off the shelf. The kids would pull the bin out far enough to see what was in it and then leave it if it wasn’t the bin they were looking for. That and a whole lot of extra mess was made taking out extra bins and whole lot of confusion when it was clean up time.
The advantage to toy bin labels:
- Creates a system that makes finding the toys kids are looking for easier
- Less toy bins and things are pulled out during the play process
- Clean up is quicker and easier for kids
- A system helps keep toy collections to a minimum
Toy bin label supplies
I absolutely love these chalkboard labels for toys bins. They are sturdy, adorable and so affordable. You will also want to grab chalk marker like this.
When labeling toy bins, keep in mind your audience. When I created these toy bin labels, my kids were non-readers. Therefore, my toy bin labels included drawings to help my kids identify the correct toy bin.
toy bin organization perks
I actually did this months ago and the toy bin labels have held up really well.
The best part is, the kids check the labels before pulling out a bin and it makes clean up a breeze!!
Before when I would tell Quinn to put his action figure away he would pull out every single toy bin, the action figure toy bin being the last (because that is how these things go).
Now we have labels and he gets it right on the first try every time. YAY! Even two year old Eleanor can find what she is looking for.
And right with the kids stuff is the pretty stuff, because that is how we roll.
This is one way we make living with kids easy on everyone. Their stuff is easily accessible & easy on the eyes with labeled toy bins. What are your tips and tricks for kids and their stuff?
