Many moons ago….okay, in May, Eleanor turned five! Roughly four weeks before that Hudson turned 3 (I still have his party to share too!). Of course there was soccer and dance and all of the end of the year hullabaloo, but two birthday parties were thrown in less than a month and I would love to share them with you. Today is Eleanor’s ballerina birthday party.
Eleanor chose a ballerina party. I ordered these two ballerina birthday party supplies off of Amazon (affiliate links) – The ballerina garland and the ballerina cupcake topper.
I didn’t mind spending the money on the garland, because I knew it would be a fun addition to Eleanor’s bedroom. Eleanor’s birthday was during the week and her party was on Friday evening.
On her actual birthday she did a half day of school, Chuck-e-cheese with her siblings and dinner at a Mexican restaurant (her choice).
She opened presents from us, which included an Instax camera in her favorite color, and I’m jealous.
She ended the day at Cherry Berry.
Flash forward to her birthday party.
I made balloon garland by tying balloons together using fishing line and ordered the two items off of Amazon, otherwise it was mostly stuff from a round the house.
In typical girl fashion, she flipped over the money and the shoes.
She had chocolate cupcakes with bright pink frosting and some of her favorite candies. I painted faces, because it is one of her favorites. To keep things low key and low stress, we ordered mostaccioli & meatballs from a local joint.
I think when it was all said and done, she felt pretty special–and that really is the whole goal of it all.
We were just sitting at the table the other day and she was going through her parties– Elmo, Yo Gabba Gabba, Frozen, Flowers & Ballerina. The themes help make the memories more concrete and less of a blur.
