It has probably been close to six months since I got this hand-me-down bookshelf/cabinet. I was waiting for better weather to haul it outside and give it a paint job.
Better weather has officially come and it is still sitting there. Hopefully by the end of the summer we will get it painted. I was thinking white, with a fun color back and some fresh new hardware.
Also, not crazy about the current location (old picture, but you get the point).
I really think the shelf should go where the desk is. I would like to move the desk out of the living room and then facing the ottoman, I would like to put a comfy chair to kind of finish off the space.
Unfortunately money for chairs isn’t on the top of the spend list, but it sure would make the space feel finished.
I’ve been loving the idea of writing on globes or chalkboard globes, but I love all my globes in my collection too much to write on them or paint on them with chalkboard paint.
Target had these chalkboard globes out as party of their graduation party stuff. Every single time I went to Target I walked by them and finally nailed one on clearance for under four dollars!
The globe currently sits on the bookshelf that is still waiting its makeover.
The chalkboards that were hanging in my dining room are now hanging in the living room over the console and it feels very uninspiring. We had them, so they went there.
It all just feels off to me, but I havn’t figured out how to proceed. My sister got this awesome giant pull-down school map that I thought of hanging there, but it clashes with the lamps.
It is all feeling pretty off to me right now, but I haven’t figured out what or how to make it feel right.
Okay, so I figured out how to make it right, but not within a budget. Unlimited funds makes solving design problems considerably easier ;).
And the biggest home mistake we have made is: Fiona is officially 9 months old and we don’t have one picture of her hanging in our whole house. We definitely need to fix that right quick!
