A DIY Advent calendar with all the details already handled for you.

I’m so excited about this project! I know this advent calendar looks super cute and maybe even a little overwhelming, but you are going to be amazed at how easy it is!

You guys…it is a kit!! Everything you need, but a glue gun comes in the kit. Even cooler is my blogging friend Katie from Sweet Rose Studio designed it!

You can find this fun Crafternoon kit at JoAnns. When I saw Katie’s face on the packaging I wanted to yell, “I know her!” like Buddy the Elf in the movie, Elf.

After much debate on how I wanted to hang mine, I ultimately decided to cut the string and hang it across the bulletin board. I pinned the string with a tack on each side, hanging five rows of five.

The kids have already pointed out to me that the little paper bags are empty. Like I am going to fill them and listen to them whine for candy for the next few weeks?

Ways to use your DIY advent calendar

Then I thought maybe I should fill them with fun Christmas/winter activities. Things like:

  • Jam out to Christmas music.
  • Make a Christmas list.
  • Do a random act of kindness.
  • Watch a Christmas movie.
  • Make hot coco.
  • Read a Christmas book.

I think you catch my drift. Have any of you done an activity based advent calendar before? What are your favorite holiday activities?
