Today we are celebrating the start of our family. That’s right! My husband and I have been married 5 years!! We got our first jobs, our first cars, our first apartment, our first house (remodeled and redecorated it), our first kid (and another) in the last 5 years. That is a lot of first. My husband and I met in an art class in college at the University of Wisconsin our sophomore year. When I arrived late to class the very first day, I plopped down in the very first open seat I saw and it happened to be next to Mr. Right. Who would have figured? With two 4 hour art labs a week it didn’t take long for us to get to know each other. We spent eight hours a week working on art and chatting side by side. You could call that the dating period, because when we finally took the plunge, we never looked back.
You can also cut cost by reusing wherever possible. This unity candle and flower arrangement took center stage at the head table during the reception. The bride’s bouquets were placed in vases with water to decorate the head table. This kept the bouquets alive and kept the table pretty without shelling out more money.
