Investing in yourself - self-care

Sometimes in the midst of taking care of everyone else, us moms forget to invest in ourselves. Self-care looks different for everyone, but there are a million and one ways to take a moment and show yourself a little love. Here are 40+ ways to invest in yourself! (includes affiliate links)

  1. Read a book
  2. Paint your nails (love this stuff!)
  3. Curl up with a warm cup of tea, coffee, hot cocoa.
  4. Diffuse essential oils or light a candle
  5. Take a bath
  6. Pedicure
  7. Manicure
  8. Facial
  9. Take a class — photography, cake decorating, quilting — whatever floats your boat.
  10. Visit a coffee shop
  11. Stroll your favorite store alone (ahem–Target anyone?)
  12. Meet a friend for dinner, drinks or dessert.
  13. Exercise- Run, Yoga, Zumba, etc.
  14. Buy yourself cute underwear and bras. Especially if you have been living in nursing tanks like me for the last 7 years!!
  15. Enjoy a glass of wine.
  16. Try a fun dinner service like Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, etc.
  17. Get your hair done.
  18. Try a new color lipstick.
  19. Make time for a favorite hobby.
  20. Enjoy an audible subscription (free 14 day trial).
  21. Try a fun delivery box like FabFitFun (Use my link to get $10 off) –I just ordered the Editors box (Merry Christmas to me!)
  22. Massage
  23. Sleep. Seriously. Sleep.
  24. Color. So many great adult coloring books. My sister has been loving this one.
  25. Try a face mask.
  26. Meditate
  27. Journaling
  28. TV –I already finished Gilmore Girls!
  29. Turn on a jam.
  30. Write down a list of things you are grateful for.
  31. Shower, put on makeup and get dressed. It seems so obvious, but makes all the difference.
  32. Magazines, blogs & Pinterest.
  33. Create something.
  34. Call a friend.
  35. Build something for yourself. A blog. A business. A skill.
  36. Join a team sport. Endorphins. Community.
  37. Turn off your phone.
  38. Wear fun socks. I love Woven Pear!
  39. Create a space you love! Rearrange, add some fun throw pillows, hang up your favorite pictures/quotes.
  40. Fun office supplies. Because planning my week with washi tape, highlighters and pens makes me giddy.
  41. Hike
  42. Fresh Air and Sunshine
  43. Watch a sunrise or a sunset.

As we head into the holiday season, don’t forget to take time to fill your cup and invest in yourself. Do you do any of these self-care items? How do you fill your cup up?
