I have so much I want to tell you friends. Excuses and reasons why you haven’t heard from me. Why I stopped paying attention to what I stuffed my face with or why exercise got put on the back burner. None of that matters. Tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it.
This campaign and this game, Just Dance, got me moving again. It got me moving when I was feeling pretty low and pretty overwhelmed about how much weight I had packed on from the last two pregnancies. I started exercising to the Just Sweat mode in the privacy of my living room. It was easy enough to fit in, I didn’t have to worry about what I wore, how I looked or who was watching me. Plus, Quinn enjoys this game so much that it makes it easier for me.
Today I crossed a big barrier, both mentally and physically. I feel like this is something I can do. When it comes to losing weight it just has to click. It is a lifestyle change and you have to be ready to make it. Watch the video to find out what I did!
PS- Video is no makeup, post exercise. Sorry!
Now I want to take a moment to review Just Dance. This is such a fun game. If you like to dance, then you will like this game. Back when I exercised regularly, I would go to this really awesome Zumba class three times a week. I loved it. Something about getting lost in the music and moving in different ways and using different muscles made me feel so alive. Life got in the way and I stopped going. Now the thought of seeing myself in in the full length mirrors along with the fact that I would have to make it fit my schedule has kept me out of the class. Just Dance is closest I have come to feeling like I did when I took that Zumba class.
For the two years I took class we really didn’t dance to that many songs. We would cycle through them, bringing back old songs and old routines to change it up. There is something fun about not having to focus so much on what to do next and just doing it. Really getting into the dancing. The reason I bring this up is because I feel very satisfied with the song selection. If, however, you need a lot of variety, you can buy and add on songs.
After having 3 kids via c/s I have very little core strength. When I dance to Just Dance I find myself pulling my belly button in and engaging my core in a way that I don’t normally.
The game is easy to use and so fun. The lyrics show up on the bottom if you want to sing along while a friend dances. There are fun song choices for kids like Aladdin and Ghostbusters (which Quinn and Eleanor really love).
What you put into Just Dance is what you get out. You can just move one hand and try to match to score or you can really bust out the dance moves and go all out. You can really work up a sweat if that is what you are looking to do.
More then anything, after listening to the fun music and dancing for 30 minutes you are bound to just feel better!
