Lighthouse Climb & Finding Balance

This past weekend we were able to visit our town’s lighthouse. It was a scheduled lighthouse climb day. You have to be six to do it, so only Quinn qualified. Since I’m very pregnant, I let Ross hike up to the top of the lighthouse with him. He did facetime us from the top though!

We had to get there early to secure our spot. Even though the other kids didn’t get to climb, they enjoyed their time.

Lately, I feel like I am being pulled in so many directions in my life. With summer nearing an end, I feel like there are so many things I need to fit in before the kids head back to school. The list of things that need to get done around the house before baby comes is pretty long too. All the weekends are filling up quickly. I crave a blank box on the calendar, but then I feel like I need to fill it with summer fun. Wisconsin winters are no joke!

Then, tucked right into the chaos of making the most of summer before it is gone and preparing for a new baby, is the blog. The bottom line is, this blog makes money that my family desperately needs. Right now, Ross has the kids at Monkey Joe’s while I work. Quinn was invited to a birthday party there and the other two are just jumping for fun. Making the time to work on this blog makes me feel guilty, because I feel like I am missing out on time with my family. Not working on the blog makes me feel guilty, because this is mine and I made it and I enjoy contributing to my family’s income and creating content.

I also struggle with creating a blog I love and one that other’s love. How much of me and my life should be here? Traffic brings money, but my long-time readers are of great value to me too. A post about my struggles will never go viral, but I feel like a site void of my personality isn’t any fun either. I’m really struggling to find my voice and my groove. Odd to say after four years of blogging.

I would love to know more about what you enjoy reading, seeing and what brings you here. What are you struggling with these days?
