If I happen to mention my house is clean. This is the space I am referring to. My room might have a laundry pile as big as Mt. Everest and the kids rooms might be littered with toys, but if these rooms are clean…the house is clean. It is just how I roll. It is our living space, it is what company sees if they stop by, and it is what I see when I am hanging out in my home. Besides, I can just close the bedroom doors and voila.
I have shared with you my home, but as we have changed and updated things I haven’t given you a full on tour. We have done major things like knock out walls, gut the kitchen, tear up carpet, and refinish hardwood floors. We have done no-quite-so-major things like tear down wall paper, paint, and change light fixtures. Then we have done the fun stuff, like stencil curtains, create gallery walls, build shelves and decorate and accessorize our home.
For those of you who are new here, or just need a quick refresher. This is what we started with.
Here are some photos I snapped while the kids were napping the other day.
View from the dining room into the kitchen. Yup, that use to be a wall. The shelf/chalkboard/wine glass storage surrounds the duct work that needed to be re-routed. It is our creative solution to a problem. The peninsula has vents at the bottom too.
So that is all folks. Add in one bathroom, an unfinished basement full of junk and four bedrooms. We don’t have a play room, office, craft room, or any extra space. This is the space we eat, lounge, entertain in, play in, craft in, work in, etc. We try to make the most of the space we have and keep it kid friendly. If you want to check out the kiddos rooms you can click here for Quinn’s room and click here for Eleanor’s room.
I will try to include as much of the details as possible. If I miss something or you are just curious about something just ask.
The whole space is painted Glass Slipper by Benjamin Moore. The couch is the Pearce Sectional in Oat from Pottery Barn. The desk is Pottery Barn (thanks to a couch delivery mishap credit). The credenza was free.
