Living Room Spring Refresh

A living room spring refresh was definitely in order. Ironically, there is nearly two feet of snow outside my window as I write this. Go figure. Living on Lake Michigan has its perks, one being lake effect snow. We got about 20 inches in 24 hours! Regardless, spring is coming.

The fresh flowers probably helped set the mood. Fresh flowers have a way of doing that. For those of you who don’t know, I have started an essential oil business and I hit a really huge milestone with that (and now earn a full-time income from that business!!). My mentor sent me flowers, gorgeous tulips, to congratulate me.

Aside from being incredibly gorgeous and giving me the spring feels, the flowers make me feel incredibly proud of what I have built and the people I have surrounded myself with in the process. I have an awesome facebook group, Explore Essential Oils and you should definitely join me there.

Spring also means outdoor furniture and patio goodies get put out. I’ve wanted poufs to frame out my space for sometime. I also knew the kids would love them. Target had nice neutral outdoor poufs, so I knew they could hold up to my four wild ones.

The other big addition is the new chair. It is actually a hideous floral number that I got from my parents. I haven’t figured it all out, but for now a Surefit slipcover I order off of Amazon for $40 does the trick. Imagine how good it could look if I had taken the time to iron it!

I really want to add some pops of pink, but it turns out that bright pops of pink are hard to find! I’ll update you when that mission is completed. My desk/office situation is still very much in limbo. I really want a barn door for the opening to the living room from the front entry. Mostly so I can close it and not stare at piles of shoes and stuff. Plus, I think it would offer great character.

It is crazy to think that we will be in this home 10 years this fall. I can’t believe how many ways we have arranged and refreshed it. Someday we will move and what a crazy fun adventure that will be to make a new house our home.
