My husband just returned from his six day business trip. I’m something like seven months pregnant and have a 2, 4 and 6 year-old, so over the last six days I’ve mostly been consumed with keeping us all alive and not melting into some hormonal sob/yelling fit. I mostly succeeded. To the parents that do this on the regular–major props!
Earlier we posted some fun printable recipe cards that are oh-so-chic if I do say so myself. I mentioned that they would be a great addition to a wedding shower or a wedding gift. For my wedding shower the guests all brought their favorite recipe and that is a treasured little keepsake. Running right along with that theme, I decided a little marriage advice printable card would be a great addition to a wedding shower or wedding gift.
These print out three to a page and coordinate so nicely with the recipe cards too!
The top reads, “recipe to a good marriage”. With some room for you advice.
At the bottom it says, “From the heart of” instead of “from the kitchen of”. How cute is that!?
My advice. I think we did so many things right in the beginning. We had so many conversations about what we wanted our marriage to look like, our lives to look like and what our expectations were. We started things on the same page, wanting the same things and that has made the journey so much easier. Life is hard and messy and being in this together makes navigating it all so much easier. It also means we have less to fight about.
I also read something about imagining someone at their best. In marriage, that would mean in the midst of a fight or hard feelings, imagining them at their best–Beautiful, laughing, happy–its harder to be mean to that person. So what is your recipe to a good marriage?
