Baby Details
If you follow me on Facebook, then you probably heard the good news. Yup, it is a BOY!! Everything looks good and healthy. Quinn got the little brother he was hoping for and we are unbelievably excited to welcome this little boy in April. I have got to tell you, the response on Facebook was so overwhelming I just know he could feel the love. We really couldn’t be more blessed.
Now that we know it is a boy we are all about picking out a name (I think we settled on a first name) and getting this little boys room in order. We have two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. We always keep the baby in the room by us for obvious reasons like: babies don’t sleep. Eleanor is getting the boot. It absolutely breaks my heart, because I love her room, but it makes absolutely no sense to keep Eleanor downstairs across the hall from us and put the baby upstairs across the hall from Quinn.
The room Eleanor is moving into is currently functioning as a storage room. It is in sad shape and it is going to require A LOT of work in the next 14 weeks to get it ready for E. I’m really hoping to have it ready sooner, rather than later so she doesn’t feel like the new baby jacked her room. We like to keep things peaceful around here. As sad as it is to see her leave this room I put so much work into, I know her new room is going to be unbelievably cool. I have a million ideas running through my head. We will be sure it feels just as special as this room.
For the little mister on the way the stripes are going to stay. I started playing around with ideas for his room and whipped up this mood board. In my dream world, this is what I would be rocking in his room.

How to design a baby boy nursery
When designing a baby boy nursery it is always fun to bring in a little whimsy. Due to safety concerns, there is typically less fun to have with bedding. If you find sheets you love, grab a few, because babies have been known to make messes.
I fell in love with the robot sheets from Pottery Barn and the planet mobile. This became the launching point for my entire baby boy nursery.
Pulling in the orange and blue, the other details came together. That core piece will determine the colors you use in the room. As far as patterns goes, remember to mix different scales. In this boy nursery, small dots with big stripes. Don’t be afraid of pattern. Especially when creating a space for a baby.
Real life details….
First things first, We need get Eleanor’s room ready and move her out. Maybe I should get going on a mood board for that. As of now, this is my vision for the room. Of course there will be some DIY and special touches thrown in there. I cannot wait to see how the room evolves. What do you think?
