Call it spring fever, or extreme nesting or in this case—just being me, but I had the urge to change things up. It isn’t always about one being better than the other, but just needing something new. Kind of like a hair cut. Sometimes you just need a change. I already shared the bookshelf we added, including how we got that fun pop of color in the back (check that out here). If you aren’t familiar with my digs, check out our home tour to see the old layout/color scheme.
Our living room is long and narrow. We have little wall space. One side is open to the dining room and the other side is a GIANT window. Then of course we need to take into account the front entryway too. Tricky little living room. The old layout was something like this. Disclaimer: This drawing is not to scale. Hopefully it gives you better idea of how things flowed.
We ditched the long narrow Ikea shelf (toy storage for the basement?) and replaced it with a tall bookshelf. The new arrangement opens up more to the dining room and now we can actually see our TV from the dining room and the kitchen, which I kind of love…not gonna lie. New layout:
This new layout kind of gives me a fun little office workspace too :). Now let me inundate you with some photos.

Isn’t that the truth?!
Yup, these snuggle bugs are the best part of it all.
Anyone else bit by the spring bug? What kind of changes have you been making around your house?
