Flying With Children

February 10, 2015 by Megan Leave a Comment

Santa brought the kids plane tickets. You can read more about that here. Quinn has been begging for plane tickets for as long as I can remember. In fact, I'm a little unsure if it was that he wanted to travel to far away places or he really wanted to fly. We were leaving bright and early in the morning. Since we were flying out of Chicago, we had to allow an hour and a half drive time. Quinn came down a million times wondering if it was time to go yet. I'm not entirely sure ...

Elf On The Shelf Stationary

December 8, 2014 by Megan 1 Comment

When we started this tradition years ago, we found ourselves wondering two nights before Christmas-- How exactly do we end this? Our little goodbye letter was whipped up quickly and over the years we have improved it. We created a fun pre-written letter on official Elf on the Shelf letterhead (designed by my husband). The letter was for our family so it said children, because we have children. Lots of folks have written to me asking if there could be an option for one child. Go ...

Styling a Bookshelf

July 3, 2014 by Megan 2 Comments

I love to decorate. I love having a place to display a little personality in my home, but I have kids soo.... Does this sentence even need to be finished? We live here. I mean LIVE here. They aren't in school yet, we don't have a play room. All the living and playing that a 5, 3, and 1 year old do happens right in my living room and dining room. A beautifully staged coffee table isn't going to happen. The living room floor is meant for wrestling matches, Legos, block towers, cooking and ...

Keeping Kids Active and Busy

January 24, 2014 by Megan 3 Comments

I don't know if you know this, but I live in Wisconsin. I feel like this winter has been crazy cold. Way to many days well below zero. Way to many days stuck inside. I have three kids too-- 5 years-old, 2 years-old, and 9 months-old. We have a lot of energy in this house. A lot of energy. I know all you moms out there are like "amen!". So today I wanted to share a few things we have found to get out some of that energy. Well three things to be exact. Three things that can be done right in ...

End of Summer Hurrah and Start of School

September 2, 2013 by Megan 2 Comments

I know most people think having a baby in the spring is awesome. I have done it twice now and it really kills our summer. It is harder to get going and as a nursing mom, they are so demanding in the beginning. When the kids want to go to the zoo or the park, I have a brand new baby that will roast in his car seat, cannot wear sunscreen and needs to stay out of the sun. This means one of three things inevitably happen: 1) we go nowhere, 2) we go somewhere and Hudson gets lugged along and I spend ...
