Less than five months ago I told you how I had plans to start Project Life (check out those plans here). At that time I had no photos chosen, sorted, developed. In those five months we remodeled our bathroom, did a nursery, welcomed our third child and I STILL managed to document all of 2012, June, July and our our August camping trip of 2013. That is nothing short of miraculous.
After years and years of feeling guilty, I finally feel in control of memory keeping. Project life is a back to basics approach to memory keeping. It is so flexible. It doesn’t require scissors, glue or any extra supplies, but if you are the artsy fartsy time you can bling this bad boy out. I love that I can go back and embellish easily. Nothing is permanent, so I can change my mind on the layout. If anyone needs a photo–it slides right out and right back in.
My main goal is to stay current and then squeeze in the past where I can. Next up is May 2012.
Today I wanted to share parts of July. I was lucky enough to get a sampling of The Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic Core Kit, carried exclusively at Michael’s.
We celebrated my grandpa’s 80th birthday. It was a big a deal.
The page below is one of my favorite pages. I feel like it just captures so much love and the essence of family. Not going to lie Quinn’s hug had me nervous. Grandpa held his own though.
My favorite part of Project Life is the focus on capturing life, not just holidays and birthdays, but life. Becky Higgins (the creator of Project Life) shares wonderful ideas about capturing memories on her blog. I just read a great post on her blog about stories of home. If you ever are looking for inspiration on capturing life, you should check out her blog.
Here is some everyday from around our house.
And a page from our camping trip.
As you can see, The Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic Core Kit is light blues, pinks, greens, yellows and airy neutrals. This kit features birds, trees, foxes, houses, keys and clipboards. Michael’s is also exclusively carrying the The Vintage Travel Core Kit. The Vintage Travel Core Kit is deep blues, reds and browns and darker neutrals. My blogging buddy Katie over at Sweet Rose Studio just did the cutest layout with The Vintage Travel Core Kit.
I feel obliged to remind you that Michael’s ALWAYS has coupons. You can get the app for you phone and pull up coupons on the spot right on your phone.
What kind of memories did you make in July? How are you documenting life?
