As far as this campaign goes, this is my after. My journey is far from over. Hudson is six months old and while I have made progress–I am far from where I want to be.
Please be kind, as it takes A LOT of courage to share these photos.
I actually was feeling pretty defeated, because all I see is what is left to do–and it is a lot. Putting these pictures side by side and really looking back and thinking about how I felt when I started this journey makes me appreciate how far I have come. I hadn’t exercised in close to two years. I started with Just Dance and now I can run 2 miles back to back. I have lost 8 pounds. It isn’t a lot, but it is something. I have gotten stronger.
My Measurements:
Weight: -8 lbs
Neck: -1/2 inch
Arm: -1 inch
Bust: -2 inches
Waist: -2 inches
Belly button: -6.5 inches
Hips: -1.5 inches
Thighs: -1 3/4 inch
One of the hardest parts about this journey is being able to visualize anything different. My body has morphed so much carrying Quinn, C/S, nursing Quinn, carrying Eleanor, C/S, nursing Eleanor, carrying Hudson, C/S, nursing Hudson– that it has become difficult for me to even imagine something different. I have a hard time imagining my body changing that much. Just this little bit makes it that much easier to imagine. That much easier to work for.
One night this week I went on a run. I got home and Hudson had woken up so I nursed him. While I was sitting in the dark, nursing him, with sweat still dripping down my forehead from my run and couldn’t help but feel really amazed and proud of all my body does. It isn’t exactly the way I want it to look, but it gives me the strength to get through my day and give my babies what they need. Sometimes it really is just a matter of changing your perspective.
Along this journey I have learned that every little bit counts. Just Dance has been a fun way to bring movement and activity into our home. Just Dance 2014 has the Ghostbusters theme song on it and the kids love it. I snuck a little video of Quinn dancing.
Now it is your turn. How do you get activity in? What are your tips and tricks to a healthy lifestyle/weight loss? Have you been working at losing weight.
