I don’t know if you happened to catch our porch makeover. Last year we finally did something about the dated wrought iron and ratty carpet. You can check out all the details here. To give you an idea of how bad it was, I leave you with this:
I’m super excited to announce that our porch makeover was featured in the June issue of This Old House magazine! Since the holiday decor came down, I’ve been itching to get this porch ready for the spring.
We got our porch all pretty just in time for Memorial Day. Spring was slow-coming here in Wisconsin.
We went to the parade. As we were parking it started to pour so we caught a lot of the parade from our car.
Hudson didn’t mind, because he loves sitting in the front seat of the car. Whenever the van doors open, he makes a run for it and tries to claim a few seconds in the driver seat before we burst his bubble and strap him into his car seat.
The rain mostly cleared and the kids spied their cousins so they ditched us. We stayed with the car since it wasn’t technically parked in the right place.
It ended up being a gorgeous day that we capped off with a family cook out.
My patriotic baby bump. Yes, it is going to be a long summer!
This beautiful day I got to spend with my family is a gift. I wanted to take a minute to thank those who make that gift possible, who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and to their families who also sacrificed so much.
