Five Things Friday

Holy smokes! It is Friday again.

Didn’t mean to leave you hanging for a whole week. Check out last weeks, the inaugural, Five Things Friday.

1. I’ve become obsessed with painting my nails. There are two parts to this. In the past I couldn’t wait long enough for them to dry. I always ended up smudging them or waking up with sheet lines in them. My amazing readers/community on Facebook recommended this top coat* and it changed my nail-painting-life. You put it on wet nails, dries super fast and hard and finally…..life can go on!

I’ve also found that it is a good way to entertain myself in the evening and beats stuffing my face.

My vision of cute confetti nails didn’t exactly work out.

2. We went to the library earlier this week. We were actually there for a kid music program. I managed to grab some books. I took everything off their shelves by Mo Willems, because the kids are a big fan of the Pigeon series* and my students were a big fan of his books. I think I found the kids most favorite book ever–Knuffle Bunny*. I mean, I’ve never seen them love a book so much. Do you know this book? We will be buying it for sure.

3. We bought a new rug. It is from Rugs USA. I’m not entirely sure what to think about it. It is our first ever wool rug. It said it would shed for two months, and it is shedding! Hopefully that only last 2 months. If it does, I’m happy. Any of you have experience with wool rugs?

4. POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box. The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.

Now that I have that disclosure out of the way, I wanted to tell you how amazing it was to come home to this box on my doorstep. It is like my best girlfriend sent me a care package with all her favorite things.

5.  I went on a date with Hudson. The older two went off to a sleepover.

Actually, as I type this, Ross is driving to pick up Eleanor. She chickened out. We even tried face-timing her. She was so conflicted and so badly wanted to stay, but she just couldn’t get over her fear.

Anyways, with the two of them busy with their aunt, I had the afternoon with just Hudson. It was wonderful! He never gets that kind of attention and I really enjoyed it. I think he did too! We went to the zoo and out to dinner with daddy and played in the living room until bed time. I think I need to start dating my children. Do you do that?

Five very random life happenings. Please feel free to share a few of your own things.
