One day I decided to start Project Life on a whim. Within a month I had an entire year in an album. When I purchased my first Project Life kit I didn’t have a single photo organized or printed off. Not going to lie, when I picked up this stack from Walgreens I felt a bit overwhelmed.
Luckily the photos printed in chronological order. All my January photos were together, my February, etc. I also printed of 3×4 Instagram through Persnickety. (This is pre-Instagram friendly kits like Just Add Color, which is available on HSN now).
I started loading pictures and getting down as much as I could remember on the cards. It made me sad that I didn’t have a lot of clear memories or details.
I shared these via photos via Instagram- I didn’t have a Saturday Share at the time. Needless to say, I was hooked. I’m the queen of wanting shiny new craft things only to have them sit. Lots of times the idea of something is more fun then actually doing it. This works for me though. This is a system I use and love.
My love of Project Life allowed me to get my hands on samples of new kits and a chance to promote Project Life. This all lead me to other Project Life lovers and now we are sharing and asking you to share each week during Saturday share.
Aside from being inspired by layouts–I truly hope you are inspired to get your photos off of your computer and into albums. Your pictures right next to your thoughts in chicken scratch is EXACTLY what makes Project Life so cool.
After cramming to get and entire year done before baby Hudson came–I decided to start right where we were. So all of 2012 is documented, but 2013 starts in June. I wanted to work in the present. I’ve been slowly working on the past months. Yesterday I put a bunch of photos in folders: Jan 2013, Feb 2013, March 2013, April 2013, May 2013.
Start today. Don’t beat yourself up over what you have or haven’t done. Start today. Print off some photos this weekend. Use a 40% off coupon and pick up an a kit from Michael’s and by Saturday you WILL have something to share.
You know what my favorite part of Project Life is? Documenting my life makes me appreciate it. I see this accumulation of moments and I am overwhelmed by how blessed I am and how full my life is. It is truly an exercise in appreciation.
