Today I’m sharing some small house organization tricks and joining in on small house tour hosted by, Stacey Risenmary of Not Just a Housewife
Small is a matter of perspective, but at just under 1600 square feet, with two of the bedrooms located in a finished attic space and one bathroom this house can start to feel pretty small for our family of six. While we all love to drool over laundry rooms the size of my kitchen and kitchen islands as big as my kitchen, it probably isn’t the most practical inspiration for most of us.
Small House Organization Tricks : Use Vertical Space
One thing just about every house has in common is the ability to go up when it comes to storage and organization.
These shelves in the boys room are cheap and offer tons of extra storage space.
This IKEA bookshelf in the living offers easy access toy storage for the kiddos and plenty of space for pretty things too!
The side of this kitchen cabinet became a command center. Click here to learn more about how to make a kitchen command center here.
Small House Organization Tricks : Give Everything a Place
When everything has a place, everyone can help keep the house in order.
These chalkboard labels on toy bins are perfect for helping young children know what to find and where to put it. Click here to learn how to make these chalkboard toy bin labels.
I actually have an entire post dedicated to toy/kid storage. With four kids and no playroom I had to be on top of it. You can check out everything I have to share on storing toys here.
Giving everything a place means sneaking in things wherever we can. We added these hooks on the underside of the cabinet to free up some extra cupboard space.
I organize school papers using this simple method that takes little space or time. If you are a mom, you have to check this one out! Click here to see how I organize school papers.
Small House Organization Tricks : Create a Beautiful Space
One of the best small house organization tricks is to create a space you love! A space you love is a space you want to be and you want to take care of.
My favorite part about this small house tour is that everyone’s situation is unique, but they are all gorgeous! Plenty of inspiration to be found! Be sure to check out the rest of the small house tours.
