I could, and most likely will, dedicate an entire post to traveling with the kids. Today, I want to talk about the fun stuff. Check out our Sea World experience here.

We left below freezing temperatures for this and it was every bit as magical as you would expect! We were lucky enough to get our rental car, check-in to our hotel and make it to the beach as the sun was setting.

The kids were only suppose to dip in their toes, but then Eleanor and Hudson got knocked over by waves and were soaked.

With kids, you just roll with it. Before we knew it they were literally rolling in the sand. They were literally coated in sand! Not exactly what we had planned.

I think I had put my camera away at that point.

It was the perfect welcome to California.

We ate at Hodad’s, just a short walk from the beach. A fun, laid back burger joint. The food was fabulous and it was the perfect vibe for our sandy kids.

Quinn, of course, struck up a conversation with a fun group of college kids sitting by us. He has been doing this since he could talk. I love what little adventurers my children are. Everything is a party. Literally. They are always excited to see and try new things and their joy comes from who they are with, which means we can do just about anything and enjoy it! Their favorite part of the whole trip–being with their family. There is something magical about being unplugged and connected and committed to creating joy.
