Did you all know I use to be a teacher? I was. As a teacher, especially at a low income school, I never expected much. What extra money parents did have, I much rather be spent on the kids. But I would be lying if I told you it didn't feel good to be appreciated. It always feels good to be noticed. My favorite were always cards that included lovely messages from students. Sharing My Thoughts on a Tragic Day
Yesterday, I was enjoying a crisp winter morning with my children. We were walking back from the coffee shop, where the kids had picked out cookies. The kids were giggling and goofing around. Then I received a text from my cousin asking me what school my sister taught at. Of course, I couldn't remember. My sister recently moved to Connecticut and is in her first year of teaching there. 11 More Elf on The Shelf Antics
Bruce, our Elf on the Shelf has been bringing lots of laughter to the household: giving people mustaches, building forts, messing with power tools, fishing for underwear, hot tubbin', gaming, camping, hanging out and playing cards. When I was leaving Quinn's school Monday I said, "Have a good weekend!". It was at this point I realized it was going to be a long week. We had the usual: Quinn's school Monday (me volunteering) and Wednesday, but we also managed: story time, open gym, ...
Front Entryway Makeover: Before & After
Our front entryway kind of goes against logic. We got rid of storage! Who does that? I mean, in theory, storage is nice, but sometimes storage just becomes a place to store more junk. Thus is the case with our front entryway. When we moved into our house, it looked like this. There is so much wrong with this space. For starters, that rug is the size of a piece of paper. The mirror is actually glued onto a glass block window. Glued on pretty good too, so aside from completely replacing ...
