The holidays are crazy busy. No matter how much I prepare or shop or do in advance, I am always trying to whip up a gift or a treat or a dish the day of. It.never.fails.
Anyone else?
I still remember the first time I had Oreo truffles. It was a few years back–my mom made them for a party. My mind was blown. They are so unbelievably delicious! The best part is they are so stinking easy. Seriously.
You need a package of Oreos, 8 oz of softened cream cheese and some melting chocolate. For this I used brown and red.
I threw my Oreos in our blender (food processor was broken). What ever works for you–they just need be finely crushed. Then you work the Oreos and cream cheese together. I just used my hands. It was kind of fun. Once I had a nice chocolatey clump I started breaking off bits and rolling it into nice little balls.
I think the truffles hold up to the coating process better if you chill them first.
Heat up the chocolate according to directions. Drop the balls in to coat them and the set them on wax paper to harden. Store in the refrigerator.
These are so yummy and so simple. You can make them super festive with fun colors or sprinkles. I made reindeer noses.
I think these make the best little gift so we have a little printable so they can be packaged with care.
If yours are party food you can still rock the printable.
