It is no secret that I am not a fan of grocery shopping or meal planning. The husband and I always say, the cooking is the easy part. It is having the ingredients and a plan that seems to be more of a problem around here. When I saw this campaign opportunity I was all, PICK ME! PICK ME! Because having everything I needed along with recipes delivered right to my doorstep was like winning the freaking lottery. Baby is due next month, and I have two other rug rats I am responsible for all day. On top of that, we have been pounded with snow lately, which makes getting out of the house extra work. So yes, HelloFresh was a little bit like the lottery around here.
Everything pictured came in the bag. Three very easy to follow recipe cards and all the ingredients labeled. The box was insulated with ice packs and what not. The coolest part about this whole experience is these are things we would have never made. These are the kind of things I would have seen in a magazine, but never actually followed through with.
First off, we did the dishes in this order: Salmon Fillets with Cashew Crust, Turkey Polpette and Beef & Broccoli Rabe Tostada with Arugala. The recipes were kind of like children. The first recipe I snapped tons of pics, the second recipe a few and when I sat down to write this post I realized I didn’t snap one of the third recipe. But, like children, they are all equally loved.
I want to start by saying I don’t eat fish and certainly have never cooked it. I was absolutely shocked at how much I loved this salmon.
The sauce and lentils were perfect with the salmon, but I certainly would have never thought of this pairing.
We even made meatballs from scratch! I never thought that would happen in my house.
The final product.
Everything was easy enough to do, seeing as though we aren’t superstars in the kitchen. It was delicious, relatively quick and required zero thought or planning on our part. I actually think HelloFresh would make a fantastic wedding gift or gift for new moms.
