I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We celebrated twice! Once on Thanksgiving and then again on Friday. We also finally managed our first pic as a family of six.

We were running late getting out the door for Thanksgiving, but we were all dressed and clean and I had even managed a shower so it seemed like as good of time as any.

The kids were anxious to get going. We piled on the couch, set the timer and did a few takes. Of course, when I looked at the pictures later there isn’t a picture where we are all smiling with our eyes open. The goofball one is my favorite anyways!

The kids were off of school for Thanksgiving so we did our share of Christmas decorating too. The kids have been begging to make something with clay, especially Eleanor.

Ever since Quinn brought home a clay project from school she has had clay on her mind. She keeps fretting that they wont work with clay anymore when she is in first grade.

We used a half-off coupon from Michaels to pick up this pack of Sculpley clay.

We used about one-third of each clay block and chose three colors for per an ornament.

This project is perfect for kids, because you are suppose to mix the colors! There is no such think as wrong with this project.

Roll out your colors into snakes and twist them and squish your clay into a ball. Roll your ball nice and smooth and then squish it down into a nice little pancake.

We then used our cookie cutter letters to stamp our letter into our clay ornament. We also made a “B” for Bray and a “6” because that is our number now!

To finish them off, take a toothpick to make a hole for stringing the ornament and then bake per the clay instructions on the package.

You get this fun marbled look, which is totally on trend!

They are such a fun, colorful addition to the tree.

The kids had such a blast making them. They twisted up clay to make wreaths, candy canes, cut shapes with the cookie cutters and Hudson made a snowman!

My favorite part about creating with my kids are the conversations that happen as we work and the pride they feel when they make something.
