Back in my college days fall Saturdays were spent cheering on the Badgers at Camp Randall stadium. Now they will be filled with Saturday morning soccer games and catching up on housework and house projects, but we still like to make time to cheer on our Alma Mater. When it comes to game day entertaining, I like to keep it festive, simple and cheap.
We created these varsity letter pennant printables for every letter in the alphabet so you can spell out whatever team suites you. You can find them at the bottom of the page. Print, cut, fold tab over string and tape. It really is that easy.
We also created a fun chalkboard football playbook printable, which is super cute to decorate with.
I put mine on a clipboard for display.
We also created cute little football pennant cupcake toppers. You could use them in sandwiches or cheese cubes or other appetizers as well. Print, cut, fold around toothpick, adhere.
I also created this super cheap, super simple tassel bunting. I will include a tutorial later.
I used paper bags as serving bowls. These are just the large lunch bags. Crumble them to give them a good texture and then fold over the top. This is a simple, cheap way to create lots of serving bowls. Makes for super easy clean up. They aren’t breakable and are portable for convenient snacking. Cannot beat it!
Another simple, festive and affordable entertaining trick is to customize water bottles. My mother-in-law did this with fun polka dot tape for my sister-in-law’s baby shower. Duck Brand makes collegiate duct tape. Just rip off the water bottle label and wrap it in your collegiate tape.
I don’t know about your house, but in our house–when a 4 year old boy sees football, he wants to play football. Half-time is the perfect time to head out and get your game on. Quinn absolutely loves tackling. Soccer games and backyard football games along with all the other fall fun means lots of stains, stink and laundry. Tide Plus Febreze Freshness Sport is:
specially designed for sports apparel and fights tough sports stains like grass, dirt clay and blood. It’s the #1 sports detergent* that also helps eliminate odor and leaves all clothes clean and fresh.
Any of you college football fans? Who do you cheer for?
