Halloween Happenings

Here in Wisconsin, Fall is short-lived. I’m bummed at how quickly fall has passed us by. It was snowing as we trick-or-treated yesterday!! We had big dreams for fall.

We managed the hayride, hike, pumpkin farm, trick-or-treating, the apple orchard, scary movie night, baking fall treats and celebrating Quinn’s birthday. We still have a shot at a few of the items, but we might be too late on some. The kids getting sick, definitely made it hard to enjoy the season.

Halloween was really enjoyable, despite being really cold with snow flurries. Quinn didn’t have school, which allowed us to have a pretty laid back morning. In the afternoon we decided we better make our Halloween cookies before it was too late.

I picked up a cute little cookie kit from Target.

Despite Hudson’s expression–The kiddos really did help make the cookies and enjoyed it. I ended up decorating them, since that was a post trick-or-treating activity and they were super distracted.

Of course, before we could head out–I had to snap some pictures.

Hudson had just had his diaper changed and a million layers of clothes put on him so he was pretty annoyed with us.

He really didn’t like the hood.

It looks like I’m torturing my children by taking them trick-or-treating.

TRICK-OR-TREATING

My parents joined us in my brother and mine’s neighborhood for some trick-or-treating. Ross mostly carried Hudson, because he was pretty unsure of it all. This was his first trick-or-treating experience.

After trick-or-treating in our neighborhood we went to my parent’s house. Quinn’s teacher lives in their neighborhood and Quinn got to trick-or-treat at his teacher’s house, which completely made his night. All my siblings, their spouses/kids joined us at my parents for chili. It was nice to enjoy time with family, in front of the fire in such a low-key fashion.

Last night as I was climbing into bed I told Ross that I think Halloween might be one of my favorite holidays. I think it is such a fun way to enjoy your community. The kids have so much fun, we enjoy time with our family and it feels so low-key and stress free.

I hope you all had a lovely Halloween.
