I don’t know if you know this, but I live in Wisconsin. I feel like this winter has been crazy cold. Way to many days well below zero. Way to many days stuck inside.
I have three kids too– 5 years-old, 2 years-old, and 9 months-old. We have a lot of energy in this house. A lot of energy. I know all you moms out there are like “amen!”.
So today I wanted to share a few things we have found to get out some of that energy. Well three things to be exact. Three things that can be done right in the living room.
The first I learned from my sister. She even did it with her class. There are these fun little children yoga videos on YouTube. Free child entertainment–yes please! My kids love them and I love watching them do yoga.
You can just search “kid yoga” in YouTube. Here is one sample video. She tells a story and uses that to teach the movements.
The other is this fun thing we got the kids fro Christmas. It is a Yo Baby Kick Flipper Board *. It is basically a skateboard without wheels and it comes with a DVD that shows some basic cool tricks.
The last one is mostly only one Quinn enjoys. Eleanor joins in every now and then, but it is still a little bit above her. That is the Nintendo Wii. We let the kids do boxing, tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, Just Dance and anything active. Quinn has actually gotten pretty good. It is a great way for him to burn off energy in a positive way when we cannot get outside.
How do you keep the kids from leaping off the furniture?
