I have a thing for numbers in home decor. I am instantly drawn to them. Dressers with numbers on drawers, stools with painted numbers or baskets with numbers. There is something about this small detail that I think adds a lot of personality and a sort of vintage flair. Every time my Pottery Barn catalog comes I see images like this.

I am loving this look. I already had some baskets from Target sitting on my inherited TV credenza so I thought I would give them a little number love.
I went to Home Depot and checked out the number selection in the aisle meant for your home address. I purposefully chose three different styles, just to mix it up a bit. Then I grabbed some mounting tape and stuck them on.
Pretty simple project. I love the way it dresses up the simple baskets.
The baskets are perfect for rounding up DVD’s. The kids are digging in the baskets and pulling them on and off the shelf and the numbers have stayed on fine so far. If they fall off–no biggie, I will just pop on some tape and stick them back on.
We have plans to replace the hardware on the credenza too, just to update it a bit.
Is anyone else obsessing over numbers in home decor these days? What kind of details are you drawn to?
