Bookshelf

Bookshelf, Globes & Plans

July 25, 2016 by Megan Leave a Comment

It has probably been close to six months since I got this hand-me-down bookshelf/cabinet. I was waiting for better weather to haul it outside and give it a paint job. Better weather has officially come and it is still sitting there. Hopefully by the end of the summer we will get it painted. I was thinking white, with a fun color back and some fresh new hardware. Also, not crazy about the current location (old picture, but you get the point). I really think the shelf should go ...

Styling a Bookshelf

July 3, 2014 by Megan 2 Comments

I love to decorate. I love having a place to display a little personality in my home, but I have kids soo.... Does this sentence even need to be finished? We live here. I mean LIVE here. They aren't in school yet, we don't have a play room. All the living and playing that a 5, 3, and 1 year old do happens right in my living room and dining room. A beautifully staged coffee table isn't going to happen. The living room floor is meant for wrestling matches, Legos, block towers, cooking and ...

February 7, 2014 by Megan Leave a Comment

It is possible to have pretty things and kids at the same time. We kind of have managed to blend the best of both worlds-- mom's pretty things and all the kiddo stuff. So much kiddo stuff. More on the kiddo stuff later. Today, it is the pretty things. Styling a shelf is a little bit of things up and down, sideways, paired, stacked, etc. These are things acquired over time. A bulb box I decoupaged, a tray on clearance from Target, a leather rope ball also on clearance at Target, ...

January 29, 2014 by Megan 3 Comments

I first revealed Quinn's room way back when--you can check it out here. Most of his room has stayed just so. It is actually kind of a miracle, since I have a tendency to change things up. A lot! One of the changes we made was adding a bulletin board. I actually picked up the bulletin board for Quinn on his first day of school. I thought it would be fun to give him a place to display his school papers and projects. Right now the hockey poster is taking up most of the space. My sister took him ...

Gold Foil Doily Decoupaged Box

November 4, 2013 by Megan 13 Comments

This is sponsored post, but all ideas, images and opinions are 100% my own. I was lucky enough to get a box of Martha Stewart Crafts for some holiday crafting. I was most excited to work with the decoupage. I have heard rave reviews from some of my blogging friends and couldn't wait to get my hands on some. It is dishwasher safe--so imagine the possibilities! This stuff is so fantastic, there are no streaks, tackiness or milky haze. This decoupage is the stuff! I had a bulb box--as in, ...
