We always envisioned a shelf on the gallery wall. Because this is such a popular walk through we didn't want a table. They were too deep and none were long enough. Thus, the shelf idea was born. I wanted something rustic and reclaimed, but rustic, reclaimed wood can get pretty pricey. Instead we picked up a piece of wood from the hardware store for $6.00. Gorgeous, right? We used a sample can of stain and some 2x4's scrap wood we had. My husband sanded the wood down, not to much, but a bit ...

Advent Calendar
Finally got the advent calendar up...this morning! Each cup has a peanut butter cup (Quinn picked it). The little scrap of fabric will move along as a marker. This isn't the permanent home for the advent calendar. The permanent home is getting built (more on that later). So the reindeer need bigger noses, but I am all advent calendar-ed out. The whole point is to make him feel special, to make that day feel different from every other day. So yes, maybe I am a ...
Centerpieces
This should just about wrap up the posts on the bridal shower. I was in charge of centerpieces and ran into a very inspiring photo on Martha Stewart's website. I thought these were beautiful and simple. I did not want to permanently attach my vases so I tried Fixodent (my mom's genius idea). It worked for a quick minute but the seal broke and my inner vase floated. I think if I had given it some ample dry time and not a whole thirty seconds it might have worked. The inner section is the part ...
