Living Room Refresh for $100

September 5, 2016 by Megan 4 Comments

We had a bookshelf we inherited waiting to be painted, chalkboards hanging above a console because we had them and random stuff sitting on the console because that is what clean surfaces are for. My pillow covers were clashing with my carpet (online ordering error) and there were nail holes in desperate need of a patch and paint job. Last weekend I we put a little elbow grease in and around $100. I repotted a plant that desperately needed it and bought a basket at TJ maxx for $16 for the ...

Bookshelf, Globes & Plans

July 25, 2016 by Megan Leave a Comment

It has probably been close to six months since I got this hand-me-down bookshelf/cabinet. I was waiting for better weather to haul it outside and give it a paint job. Better weather has officially come and it is still sitting there. Hopefully by the end of the summer we will get it painted. I was thinking white, with a fun color back and some fresh new hardware. Girl Bedroom

January 4, 2016 by Megan 3 Comments

Eleanor's bedroom has finally come together. Putting together a girl bedroom is so much fun. Be sure to check out Eleanor's Nursery and her bedroom upstairs when we welcomed baby #3.     We have an odd bedroom arrangement, with two bedrooms on the first floor and two upstairs in the converted attic. With the impending arrival of baby #4 (she is here now!), someone was going to have to share a room. This lead to one giant room switcharoo. Now that the boys ...

Chalkboard Fireplace for Christmas

December 9, 2015 by Megan Leave a Comment

A chalkboard fireplace is a fun way to bring a little Christmas warmth to a home without a fireplace. If you don't have a fireplace mantel, this is a fun way to decorate. Now check out our chalkboard fireplace And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care... Or the chalkboard fireplace. To recreate this chalkboard fireplace look you will need: I used three of these chalkboards* and then painted the wood frames with this gold paint*. (*affiliate link) I've always ...
